DO’s & DONT’s

  • Pipe should not be let at gradiant so as to ensure the self cleaning velocity
  • Pipe should be sufficiently sized in order to ensure that maximum load can be carried
  • Access to drainage system should be included whereever there is a change in direction
  • Length of every branch drain to be kept at minimum and all junction to be made in direction of flow
  • Every part of drainage syatem to be adequately supported
  • Avoid passage of Drains under building as far as possible
  • Drains should be laid in straight line between points where access is provided
  • Drains should not be laid in close proximity to trees due to possbility of root damage
  • Above ground pipework should be correctly bracketed to hold system securly in place.Vertically every two meter,Horizontally every 1 meter. This will also assist expansion control.
  • All drainage system require a vent to allow fresh air to be taken into the sytem in order to ensure a smooth running to the discharge
  • It is important to allow for the expansion in all plastic drainage system.Push-Fit joints should not be inserted to full depth.Solvent weld system should use expansion joints where require
  • Apply water based paint to exposing piping
